The pigment can also deposit unevenly through inflamed tissue, leading to color irregularities and potential scarring that are hard to fix later. Because acne can recur and heal unevenly, the result is often unreliable or worsened skin texture.

The right approach is to wait until the skin is clear and fully healed before performing PMU. If needed, guide the client to treat the acne with appropriate skincare or medical advice, and reassess once there’s no active inflammation.
